CableLabs is excited to be hosting the Light Field and Holographic Display Summit this year. For 30 years, CableLabs has been at the forefront of innovation, transforming how humans, communities and industries connect. Dating back to the launch of HFC in 1992 to the start of DOCSIS® in 1994, CableLabs has directly impacted the landscape of tomorrow. With its in-house R&D and innovation teams, as well as its ecosystem of partners from both inside and outside the cable industry, CableLabs works with academia, government, the vendor ecosystem and beyond to grow the communities of tomorrow. The goal is to create a future that is more useful, more connected and more global, by repeatedly pushing the forefront of innovation, transforming concepts and impossibilities into practical and adoptable everyday uses. CableLabs is a founding member of the Immersive Digital Experiences Alliance (IDEA), a new alliance working towards developing a family of royalty-free technical specifications that define interoperable interfaces and exchange formats to support the end-to-end conveyance of immersive volumetric and/or light field media.
Debbie Fitzgerald, Director, CableLabs
Debbie Fitzgerald is an Engineering Director leading technology research at CableLabs. Over the course of her 12 years at CableLabs, Debbie has led efforts in next-gen network architectures and platforms, interactive television, advanced advertising, and energy efficiency. She leads the CableLabs program on immersive media experiences and light field research, developing interoperable media formats and media-aware network processing for volumetric content through the Immersive Digital Experiences Alliance. Debbie has a BS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Kansas and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and was recognized as the WICT Rocky Mountain Woman in Technology in 2012.
