“Judge me by my size, do you?” The case for laser phosphor projection technology

Bio:

Rich McPherson, Sr. Product Manager of Projectors for NEC Display Solutions of America, Inc., is responsible for the company’s full projector lineup. Rich manages the marketing and messaging of projector families, pricing and inventory issues, product roadmaps and all engineering and technical aspects of the projectors.  Additionally, Rich works closely with the sales and channel marketing teams.

Rich has an extensive background in product management and has been with NEC since 1995.  With over 25 years in the projection industry, Rich has covered a large spectrum of positions. Starting in customer service as a service technician at the beginning of his career, he moved into a management role before moving to engineering. His next career move was into product management roles first with Plasma Displays and then Projectors. Rich holds dual degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Technology from Corning Community College.

Abstract:

The digital cinema industry is witnessing a number of innovations to enhance the movie-going experience.  In this session, NEC will explain the benefits of laser phosphor projection technology, including its compact size, DCI certification, reliability, maintenance-free operation, and lower total cost of ownership.
